As I've noted several times in past posts, Kirwan was my favorite Mac guitarist, and was a major influence in the musical path I've taken.

Here is Sunny Side of Heaven.  Thank you Danny.

I was going to start this thread earlier but felt that Gregory should get first shot since he is our resident Fleetwood Mac junky. If I was going to pick a favorite Fleetwood Mac guitarist it would be Peter Green but Danny certainly had his own thing going, too, and it was really good. He probably had the best finger vibrato of any guitarist I have heard, an engaging vocal style and wrote some great songs along the way.

I would not try to pick a favorite from among Green, Spencer, and Kirwan - but they have had no one on their level since.  This is a major loss.

Thank you Danny.

Nothing but love for his family and friends as they face this.

Mostly because of my timing, I grew up on the later of formations of Fleetwood Mac, but I quickly recognized that they followed in the footsteps of giants. I knew many here favored the Green/Spencer/Kirwan days, and I very much appreciate the deference. I knew you guys would want to know.

I can't help but be a little struck by this quote from the RS article: "I get by and I suppose I am homeless, but then I've never really had a home since our early days on tour. I couldn't handle it all mentally and I had to get out. I can't settle." That's about as tragic a thing as I ever read. I've been thinking about it since last night.

Anyway, Peace to his family and friends, and former bandmates.
