Kind of a strange thing to put on ebay, but on the outside chance someone comes looking for it, here's the original paperwork for a 1986 Persuader, apparently with a cocobolo top.

This bass' serial number was looked up here before, but it's been a good while. Hopefully someone spots this... ;)

*here was the SN lookup thread: http://club.alembicguitars.net/index.php?topic=6303.msg67463#msg67463

It seems to me he should have included it with the bass when he sold it (so he says), or if it was lost and now found, forwarded it to the buyer...

Acts like this make me embarrassed to be a human being.

Oh boy... sure hope I didn't inadvertently start something. :-X

I really don't know what the whole story is on how these didn't get transferred with the sale(s). It looks like it might have even been years ago. I just hoped you know... if it was me looking... I'd love to find the original paperwork for my Persuader. Not sure I'd fork over $100 for it though.

Honestly, if I could convince them to sell them to me for something reasonable, (and I may, yet) I'd just hang onto them until the bass they belong with resurfaced, perhaps here.  :)

$100 is the minimum bid and if I were a gambling man it seems a safe bet that nobody, even the current owner of the bass, is going to bid $100 or more for a piece of paper with a "vintage smell". On the other hand if the current owner sees the listing they may be happy to see the build sheet and they could take a screen grab or download the images. When I saw this on eBay earlier today I thought it was, to quote Jerry G... "beyond the pale".

Wow! This takes the cake.  I can't believe that: (a) this person did not provide the documentation to the buyer at the time of the sale and (b) if he was not able to locate it back then but has it now he didn't actively track down the buyer and offer to mail it to him free of charge.

In contrast when I purchased my Alembics through the Club this is what occurred:

(1) Along with my first Alembic the seller sent me all documentation as well as several Alembic catalogs he had from that era
(2) When I purchased a beautiful SC standard from the wife of a club member who passed away in a tragic accident, not only were the papers forwarded to me but an Alembic pendant the previous owner had made as well as a nice personal note from his widow thanking me for taking care of something her late husband treasured.
(3) I think the best, however, was when a club member hand delivered to me from Chicago the PJB 16B and 8T cabs I purchased from him.

The only thing that stays the same is change.

Yeah, it's got the "Vintage Smell", all right...

This is despicable and completely contrary to the spirit and ethics of the company that created the instrument associated with the documentation.
