Hi there
I need to replace the stereo jack socket on my Series I. Before I order a brand new one from Alembic's, please could anyone tell me if this Fishman jack socket would do as it really look the same as an Alembic :
Details here : http://www.thomann.de/gb/fishman_schaltbuchse_acc_pbr_9pj.htm

Looks the same but I think you would be better contacting Alembic for the actual part because:

a) If you get the Fishman and it isn't right then
b) You will have to order the part from Alembic

In other words paying out twice and waiting twice as long to get it fixed.
E mail Alembic with serial no  of bass..I would do that without hesitency.

Hi Terryc
Thanks very much. I've sent an email to Fishman asking if the jack socket can do the job.
As soon as I get a reply, I'll leave a message here.
Thanks.

OK, here's the answer from Fishman. It doesn't help at all ! :

Hello Fabien,

I have no way of knowing what jack was used on your Alembic bass originally or if our product will fit.  Our jack is intended as an exact
replacement for Fishman original equipment.

Hi Fabien,

You can still order an original replacement part directly from us. We charge $15 for this part. Please note this is the only part we use that requires a metric nut driver, but that shouldn't be a problem for you in France.

The easiest way to order is to send me an email with your exact shipping address the way you want it to appear on the label along with the serial number of your Alembic and the list of parts you need. Then you can call our office or fax your credit card details for payment. It's best not to send payment details by email.

I suggest you send a note to Alembic. They should be able to give you the part number for the 1/4 jack. As I recall it is made by Switchcraft.

That's the wisest thing to do actually.
I guess I'll wait a while after Christmas (money...)  and for the beginnig of 2008, I'll send both preamp card and jack socket for mending at Alembic's.
Thanks very much everybody for your helpful advice.
