I love it! I got to play it for a good long time on Bill's couch and it's got a lovely snap to it, acoustically speaking. Thumbs up, Bill!

I love the look you got - is there any stain on the body before the finish or in the finish?

I liked the neck on this guitar a lot better than the other one you brought to the gathering with the Modulus neck. Would be nice to hear them plugged in, too.

The finish is a product called "Wudtone".  First a stain is rubbed on the bare wood.  This is followed by 3 or 4 hand rubbed coats of a fifty/fifty mixture of the stain and a grain filler, depending on the wood.  (Ash gets the filler, maple doesn't). Then 4 or 5 coats of the gloss finish are hand rubbed.  After it cures for a couple of months, the finish can be burnished for a glossier look (if I can figure out what "burnishing" means!)

As for the neck, the Goncalo Alves has a wonderful waxy buttery feel.  But everyone is different, I LOVE the modulus neck on the other guitar I brought to the gathering.  That one can be seen here:

I can definitely see the appeal of the Modulus neck, too. Nice light, fast playing neck. Nice pair of instruments each of the guitars has its own character and that's a good thing.
