I just learned this morning that Sen. John Kerry was a garage band bass player in the early '60s. I tried to copy the photo but couldn't.  Pesky copyright laws!  Anyway here's a link to it for any interested. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A4009-2004Feb1.html

This is in no way either pro or anti John Kerry.  It's just a point of interest.

I understand he wasn't good at that either ;)

The article that goes with the pic is a pretty neat story.
Thanks for the link!

My sister heard it on NPR this morning.  Here's the link; you can hear the band behind the commentator's story.

What can I say .. it looks like a Precision ... which I've never liked ...

Alan

P.S.  Maybe I can talk him into a Spyder 4?

the_schwartz

Maybe Fender will issue a John Kerry Signature model.

palembic

Yeah right!
With a stars and stripes body. Or Bears or Elephants or what'soever symbol that party has.
Hussssssssssh brother Joe.
We may giving them ideas ...they are actually able to do so.

Paul the bad one

The Ivy League is out of my league, and wrong decade to boot, but could you really meet girls dressed like that?

Paul - sadly his party symbol is a donkey. I think it originally meant stubborness, but lately it can be applied to other less savory human attributes...

the_schwartz

He met a girl - with the Heinz ketchup fortune, no less.
Not to mention what that P-bass is worth now, if he still has it.

Joe, you missed a woman in there!

He married a woman worth $200 million, but that wasn't enough so he left her to marry Heinz, worth about $500 million. An interesting note, his wife was not whole heartedly behind him when he first started running for pres. What's that tell you? ;)

adriaan

What does that tell me? You can fool a hell of a lot of people most of the time, but you have to give up playing bass or they'll find out.

Anyway, as long as George W. does not get re-elected I'm not complaining. Then again I'm not American.

jet_powers

I agree w/ Adriaan. I'd vote for Stalin if he were up against Dubya..... all right, Mussolini then.

Sorry guys, I guess you missed my joke. It was a reference to Seinfeld, as in Mimbo - male bimbo.

I know, I should know better on a friday. Everyone is tired.......
