Dave,

Who's the guitarist?

Dave, you are right.  Too cool.  This is absolutely my favorite RTF line-up.  It reminds me of when I saw them on Midnight Special in about 1974.  Thanks!  The guitarist is Al DiMeola.

Gee, i never realized that Stanley Clarke didn't have much finger dexterity at all and was a best a novice bass player .... HA!  Sarcasm, come on IN!

I actually ran into Mr. Clarke at the NAMM show this past January.  He was leaning against a wall outside of the building, appearing to talk business with four/five other individuals.  I recognized him nearly immediately but had to make sure by looking at his NAMM badge.  I then approached him and said I'm too old to do the musician adoration thing, I think, but I just HAVE to shake your hand and so we did.  I've been a fan of his since 1975 ( and considered a freak in the 7th grade).  I told him that it was players like him that had people like me saving money so they could get an Alembic.

He then asked oh, are they here?  Where's that Alembic booth? and seemed disappointed when I told him they don't do the NAMM shows anymore

Fantastic video.  I followed RTF pretty closely and saw them several times during those years.  Stanley's was only the second Alembic I'd ever laid eyes on.  I can remember thinking it was some kind of new ball game, seeing someone play such a flurry of notes with that kind of touch...

On another thread we've been discussing mostly alcohol and cannabis.  Watching this video makes me think of SPEED.  Are these guys really human?  Just amazing.
