I just bought this Tripple ;-) Omega.  I've always wanted one of these, but haven't seen them very often.  Can any give me a little background on this model and the electronic layout? (This is only my 2nd Alembic.) Did I pay a bit too much?

Welcome to the club!  Funny, I very nearly bid on this yesterday!  I can't tell you much about it, (except that it's gorgeous), but I did ask the seller a question -- he confirmed it's a 34 scale, and it has anniversary electronics.  There's a topic on this board for posting your serial number to get a build report that'll tell you a lot more information about the bass.  Just go to the top of the board, go to the topic Owning an Alembic and then go into Serial Number, History Requests.

Nice bass! I think this might be the same bass that's in this thread...

$3461 seems like a good price if it's in mint condition like they said.

Yep, that's my old bass.  I bought it used, too.
Glad to see that it's back in the hands of a Club member!

Steve - why would someone get rid of such a beautiful instrument?

Mind you I am hoping not to be passing judgement as I got rid of a zebrawood Exploiter many years ago before a divorce ---- I regret it.

If my bank account would allow - I would just keep collecting bass after bass after bass....

Thanks for the background and the link!  Glad to bring it back to club.

That's awesome.  Looks like it has Anniversary electronics in it.  You got a great price for that instrument.  Enjoy!

Yeah, that one's a real beauty! Steve Wood has great taste and, to the best of my knowledge, still has some nice Alembics.

Cheers,

Welcome to the club, Ken. Your new friend sure is beautiful! That is amazing top wood...you don't see too many like that.
Try this for your electronics: http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/16271/27398.html?1145728615
I have the Anniversary package in mine, and find it to be very versatile.
Best of luck!
Chris
Correction: there is 'much' money to be made above the fifth fret....

Kevin: I've still got more Alembics than sense - not to worry!

Pauldo:  It wasn't easy for me to sell that bass, as the top is really spectacular, especially up close and in person.  However, the Triple Omega body just isn't my cup of tea, and since I rarely play 4 string anymore I knew that someone else would love the bass more than I did.  I'm glad I was right!

Congrats Ken!!  And welcome to the board!

The bass arrived yesterday and I am very impressed.  Manageable weight (less than some of my J basses) and great tonal diversity with the Anniversary electronics.  I'm really love the feel of the neck.  I'm looking forward to getting to know it better.  Thanks for all of the information.  I'll try to post some more pictures later.

Found more info on my bass here...I love this beast.
