its back in spray for the umpteenth time
i am disheartened beyond belief....
6 months of repsraying and its still suckin up the finish....

I can't imagine how frustrating that must be. For what it's worth, I'm really sory to hear it.  As I've said before, the DW was really what pushed me over the edge (who am I kidding; it lured me from a mile off!)  into ordering my own custom.  I hope you get your baby back soon.

What if they just let it sit in a vat of the liquid finish for a week? ...Soak up THIS, cocobolo!

Dude, that absolutely sucks (no pun intended).
If the bass keeps absorbing this spray, will it not end up weighing a ton?
I am still hoping this issue ends for you soon.

Bummer.  I just checked the Vegas odds, and the Scooter Tribute is now a 5-2 favorite to visit the East Coast first!  Maybe they should start poking around inside the Wolf looking for the world's smallest black hole ... where can all this finish be going?  In the great scheme of things, may this problem be your worst problem.  One possible silver lining:  If it's ready in October and the A's make the play-offs, you can fly out to pick her up and I'll get you to a play-off game.

its not so much that its sucking the finish
its not allowing the finish to adhere to the wood due to the oilyness of this coocoobolo
- he said they have never had a piece of coco behave like this and they may opt to go with an oil finish instead if it continues to behave so rudely- now if someone knows a oil finished bass in here..... show me the way please

Just postulating here, but since the rest of the bass isn't afflicted (just the area around the inlay), I wonder if it isn't the edge of the cutout for the inlay leaking oil.
 
I wonder is there would be a good way to seal that, e.g. superglue it.

That's terrible, I hope the wood starts letting the finish hold. If not, I bet the wolf would look just as mean with an oil finish.

Have you discussed a nitro finish?  I had great luck drying nitro on cocobolo when nothing else would work.  It's less durable, to be sure, but maybe on par with oil.
