Hello,  I have a question. I have an old guitar bought in the late 70's in Holland. It was bought by a store who frequently bought guitars at Hoshino. So I went looking on the internet. It looks like a Musician, but the headstock is something you won't see in ibanez guitars. I really want to know what brand of guitar mine is. Maybe it's and alembic, or a copy, I dont know. There is no Serial number. The name on the headstock is Dutch. There is a Double neck which belongs to someone also looking for information. I know only of 1 other "Dutch" But that one ended up in the fireplace. It has 2 (3-fase?) switches and 2 DiMarzio Humbucker pickups. I'm sorry for my badenglish, I'm Dutch...  Greetings Nancy

It looks like one of the guitars that would have come from the Matsumoko factory in Japan.  They made a lot of good quality guitars under a lot of different brand names.  While they were/are very nice and in some demand, no guitar with generic electronics should be confused with an Alembic.

I am curious as to what those stickers on the back of the headstock say.

It sure is a pretty guitar!  I really like the body's shape.

It says, made in Japan and the name of the store who sold it. Gerritsen Muziekhandel The Hague

Can you post a close-up of the logo?

My Spoiler also has a Gerritsen sticker on the back of the headstock. I bought it from RockPalace, which is roughly across the street from where Gerritsen used to be (went out of business years ago, as did Servaas a few years later, who were just around the corner). I remember standing in the Gerritsen store years ago, staring at this Spoiler hanging high up near the ceiling - and I'm pretty sure it's the same bass.

I'm pretty sure this is a Matsumoko made guitar and looks like maybe their Frontier line.

Looks Matsumoku to me, too.  Here's a site with more info:

Gerritsen certainly did business with Matsumoko. An other brand name they used was Gerrinez. Pretty cool, handmade. A friend of mine ownes a Gerrinez with the 2-octave marker at the 23th fret.

That's kinda like the Matao I just bought.

I just finished putting a set of new PRS #6 Zebra humbuckers in it and it sounds as good as my Custom 24, which is saying something! The original pickups were not so good, but the rest is great.
