Hey guys. I was wondering what kind of wood the bass Stanley is using in this video is made of, specifically the front.

I remember Dela saying that this was the bass that was stolen from the band's equipment truck. To me, it looks like the body isn't layered like most other Alembics, but it might just be my monitor.

That video appears to have been removed.

I found .

Stanly had the same bass on the previous video.
Best shot is at 6:33.
The bass has metal plate between 2 pickup.
I think, the bass was made 1973 or eary 1974.

Dang, I can't belive that video got deleted right after I asked this. The bass reminds me of Bucky's series I..

but I was thinking it might be cherry. The lighting is dark and the quality of the video isn't the greatest, so it was hard to tell.

The bass wasn't the one in your video, room037. That one is the original brown bass. The one I'm talking about is a bit older, as Stanley bought the brown bass to replace this one after it was stolen.

Stanley's first Alembic was Bird's-eye Maple. It was stolen.

This may be the same bass. Does not look like a maple top though.
Look at the 1.06 mark.

And this may have been the result of the thief.

Inthelows - Nah. That is the brown bass before it's hard life.  I think it may have been new there in that video.   All the pics of the original bass that I have seen were of poor quality.  I too wondered what the top wood was on that bass.  I thought it was Myrtle, but Mica cleared it us as being birds eye maple.

Yeah! It's my mistake.
It's sure the original brown bass !
It has SC inlay below the tailpiece.
Thanks inthelows!
