Darrel Mansfield is a regular at Koinonia Koffehouse.  It's a ministry that my boss runs.  Quite well known in NorCal for the Chrisitan Artists.  www.koinonia.com

lbpesq:  Right!  No worries mate.  ;)

Actually, as far as the story goes:  I don't know who wrote that.  I just remember reading it when I was just punk kid selling my first Alembics at Guitar Center (read:evil empire) to guys who clearly ran circles around me on the bass.  I did a google search for it and found it on another website.  I embellished it with the Alembics because it was clear that the original writer was confused when he suggested that God would play a fender P-Bass.  I just felt like gettin' a little silly.  It's Friday.  Actually, I've been quite punchy all day.  I awoke this morning to the sound of someone breaking into my house at 6:00 A.M.  After 10 minutes of me waiting for the perp to come through my door so I could could legally put the hurt on him, I finally opened the door to discover my wifes freakin cat had figured out a new way to on my nerves.

Great.  Now I've hijacked my own thread.

So, did you put the hurt on the perp?

Here kitty, kitty.

No.  Fortunatly for the cat, my wife was right behind me.  Her cat.  I don't particularly care for cats much anymore.  But she wanted a cat.  I didn't want a cat.  So we negotiated and got two cats.

There's a double entendre joke there that I'm not touching.  (But I'm thinking about it and grinning!)  hehehehe

Bill, tgo

Not on this post Bill.  Keep it clean;)

I've already hijacked my own post enough today

Thanks, Olie !

Though I really like Paulie's version on 'Tripping the Live Fantastic' a bit better than the original, I APPRECIATE you thinking of me.

I am another Levite Warrior. For me, there is no  reason to play other than to bring Glory to God. I am truly blessed to get to help lead God's people in Worship and I also am one of the first ones to look into the eyes of the newly baptised. There is no better feeling.

Me?  I'm a faithful attendee at Our Lady of the Blessed Pillow on Sundays ... that, or my other favorite church, Saint Mattress ...

Yes, I'm going to hell for that bit.

True story ...

When I was in Baghdad, we did our rehearsing in the chapel.  The Chapel was a grouping of prefab buildings on the grounds of the Embassy.  One night, we walked in, and the church group was rehearsing.  I plugged in my amp and bass, and began playing along.  They were doing some church stuff, it was OK, nothing special, but fun.  I played along for a while, and after the tune ended, the keyboardist turned to me and said, man, we've missed that.  Good to know that the bottom end is universal, even in a war zone.

I played 6-string (Martin) acoustic in church today and rendered lead vocals on Poor Wayfaring Stanger and I Come to the Garden Alone. I was accompanied by a fellow parishioner who played mandolin.

(The mandolin player is also one of the best drummers with whom I've ever had the opportunity to play.)

My Series I & I appear most Sundays (September through May) at the Buffalo United Methodist Church in Buffalo, MN.

I've often wondered, but never thought to ask the question. Thanks Doc for stepping out on faith because this post has definitely been a blessing for everyone. Well as for the Series II and myself on Sundays, it's 0745 service at The Cathedral of Christ Baptist Church in Chapel Oaks, Maryland, followed by 1100 service at Meridian Hill Baptist Church, 16th Street N.W. Washington, D.C. If you're ever in the area you're welcome to stop by and fellowship.

Maybe we ought to see about a gathering of Warriors who choose Alembic as their weapon of choice.

mikedm

and this would be the pre-gathering gathering, yes? sorry, I had to.

Warriors and weapons, going a little old testament aren't we? ;) I think David's lyre was a multilaminate olive/ash combo. Complete with lion, sling and plam branch inlays. The LEDs were nixed, to many spills with flaming oil.

It's been awhile- guess I'll resurrect this thread...

Anybody have any recordings of their song service or praise/worship songs they've recorded?
