Guardian Angel steps in

Got a huge reminder how material objects are not too important compared to real blessings. My faithful mini van was totaled today while I was making aleft onto a side street. Besides being wangeled, I was pushed 15 ft. sideways up onto the side walk. Drive train blasted, wheels bent, doors inoperable, windshield cracked, lenses blasted, hood, quaterpanel looking like a rippled potato chip etc. But I stepped out calm, safe and sound with no fear, shock or profound stress. The other fellow was bruised on his forearm but drove his 250 cargo van away. I only have a sore knuckle and finger. So I just want to say, be greatful for each day, try not to stress the little things in life, and try to attain a peaceful existance in the face of adversity. Or as my Sifu says Respond to life Well. Perhaps I was meant to have a new ride anyway? Also retaining full coverage even when a vehicle is paid off can be a good thing.

Danno,
Glad to hear you are OK after that ordeal.  Auto accidents can be so devastating.  You both were blessed today by those guardian angels you mention that must have been nearby.  I like your Sifu's guidance and will take that with me from this thread.  Thanks for sharing the quote.  Stay well.

Wow Danno!  15 feet, vehicle totaled; I really hope you are ok.  Listen to your body closely tomorrow and the next few days, especially your neck.

That's some serious good luck traveling hand-in-hand with the bad.  Glad you're okay Danno, and hope the financials don't hurt you any worse than the truck did.

If I can find them I will show you some pics of my son's absolute lucky escape last year when he rolled a company Toyota Yaris about 80 feet into a field in a rural area of my area in the UK.
By all accounts he should not be here and suffered only scratches on his arm and a few bruises, being 18 years old with youth on his side did him well as the vehicle was totally destroyed, the impact was enough to rip the dashboard off but non of the airbags inflated.
Will look in my archives and display.
The aches and pains do arrive later but glad to hear that you are okay..you get these warnings throughout life that wake you up

Danno,
I am pleased to hear you came out well from a potentially debilitating situation. I agree with your thought that maybe this is the time to buy a new vehicle. As Dave suggests, do pay attention to your body for the next few days. The shock of the accident can cover up injuries until it wears off.

Danno:

Glad to hear you're o.k., but do listen to Dave.  Whiplash often waits a day or so to rear its ugly head.  In addition, side-to-side whiplash, as opposed to front-to-back (like you experience when hit from behind), can often be far more painful and lingering.  Take it EASY and seek a medical evaluation ASAP.  The other guy's insurance will pay.

Danno, it sounds like your Sifu is doing a good job.  I'm glad you came out of this in good shape. I take it you were hit on the right side.

So far so good today, even the finger is less annoying. I see my chiropractor today as well as a Tai Chi Jin sword class with my Sifu. Thanks for the kind thoughts. Yes hit on right side (fortunate again) Bend like a reed, bend like a reed. Now if I can only get that levitation thing to work or the chi energy blasts like Dragon Ball Z, THAT would be a great stage show addition.

Now to find a really great loan on a black Dodge Magnum w/gps! I guess thats my mid life crisis jaunt if I live to 88!

Danno, glad you're well!  The aches and pains will show up in a day or two regardless.  Make sure the Magnum has room in back for the basses!

Hey, Danno,

Like everyone else says, give yourself a couple of days to make SURE you're ok. I was rear-ended in a Ford Escort by a van doing 50 while I was stopped, and I didn't start hurting for 2 days.

Get the new Caravan...the stow-n-go seats are great for loading gear, and they fit ALOT more than a Magnum...

Great to hear you're OK Danno.

My votes on the Magnum, Caravans don't come with a HEMI. LOL
