QSC Amps: PLX vs. RMX?

From what I can see here, most folks seem to go for the PLX (the older ones with a bridged output feature).  Does anyone have any thoughts on the RMX line?  Is the relative lightness the main thing for luring bassists toward the PLX line rather than the RMX?

If you want light, check out stewart power amps.  I have an RMX/demeter setup that stays home because of the weight.

Agree on the Stewarts.  The reason I went with PLX (2402) was weight.  No knock on the RMX series.  I've never seen anybody who didn't like theirs.

I actually use both the older PLX and the newer PLX2 series amps. They are both much lighter than the RMX line. The newer PLX2 also have a built in crossover that the RMX line doesn't have. Both lines are very reliable and as a matter of fact many sound companies use the RMX line to drive the subs on their PA's.  If the RMX line is in your price range and weight isn't an issue you will be well served.

Peter,

If the weight isnt an issue for you, I have an RMX 850 I might interested in letting go.

I had an RMX 1450 that i just sold. It was sitting in my garage for two years (weight) because I bought a PLX 1602. Both amps sounded fine but the PLX makes my life MUCH easier.
