Looks like 7 screaming dizbusters!

These guys went to college with my brother.  Back then they were called Soft White Underbelly.

That was also their secret name when they'd do small club gigs.

Joe Bouchard plays the Alembic in the BOC Live in 77 -- I think it's called -- DVD.

I seem to remember Kevin saying that #12 belonged to this guy???

You also can definitely hear the Alembic tone on some of those early recordings. I'm pretty sure that's an Alembic on Godzilla.

Joe has done a couple of acoustic gigs recently at the theatre across from my shop.... If I ever run into him I'll ask him more about his affinity for Alembics.....

That's a Rudy Sarzo Signature Peavey Cirrus, great bass.  To my mind, the Cirrus' are THE great overlooked neckthru bass.  Made one-at-a-time in Mississippi to Hartley's quality standards.  Not as cheap as they once were (what is?), but I always have a soft spot for Peavey, and these really are very nice 'off the rack' axes.

These are modeled somewhat after the Aria SB's Rudy played once upon a time (the 'black-eyed ovals' are a nod to those axes), and RS even used them reloaded with Alembic MXY's back then.

Joey - totally agree. Peavey basses are hugely underated. The USA built Cirrus is a great instrument.

Got one.

Curly Bubinga top - Walnut Body - Walnut and Maple lams in neck, (through-neck).
Oiled body only.
Sounds warm. In fact I played the bass through an old single 15 Roland amp, (at a local Blues Jam - doing blues/jazz), and the instrument sounded as if it were a fretless bass.

BUT.... I JUST received my Custom Series Rogue, delivered by the UPS driver at my workplace, 3 hours ago!!!! Still in the Box.
Gonna be a FUN evening!!

Rich, please post some pics of your finished bass. Congrats......

One other thing I forgot to mention, and the picture shows:  Like a Series-shaped instrument, the Cirrus' have the entire fingerboard (almost) clear of the body.  With thos big cutaways, you can get to the 'above the 12th fret' zone really easily, something you seldom see on most axes, especially a conventionally shaped axe.

The Series shape is really great (almost Steinberger-like) as all of the high end of the neck is easy to reach, and the Cirrus is one of the few 'other' axes that allow that access.

. . . Of course, a Custom Rogue just smokes one of these, you dog !

Hi,

Anyone knows closeup photo of Joe Bouchard's bass ?
I found this video.
This Bass looks like Standard omega Series 1 bass.
But there is no logo on the crown head, isn't it ?
Contrasted topwood construction is just like BecVar.
