I'm glad it's your birthday,
happy birthday to you !

Thank you Oliver, for being a friend, and for helping me to fill many gaps in the Alembic/JAE-part of this wonderful world. It was a great pleasure and assistance for me to have you on my side when I registered here - oompf, NINE years ago! - you, along with many other wonderful members showed and explained to me all things Alembic... Thank you !

Now for the next fifty cycles around the sun, all the best to you and your beloved,

cheers,
Christian

Hey Spyderman -

Celebrate by tapping out a few monster bass riffs that would make the Ox proud!

Happy B-day Oliver!  Hope it was a blast.

Hey Speicky,
and Sonicus, 5a, Bill and all the other great guys in here,
many thanks for your birthday wishes.
It is my 50th.
Well still struggling with my health problems, you know that I had a retinal thrombosis two years ago. Now being 55lbs lighter than before I may not carry heavy weights and need to avoid pressure in my eyes.
I do want to play again, but I cannot imagine now how to be with a band where I cannot carry my own cabs around.......
Thank you all so much!

Hi Oliver; congrats on your 50th!  Sometimes our health issues, or other life changes, can give us a different perspective on, or different way of being in, our world.  My guess is that you will find a way, or it will find you, of playing again, that will bring joy to your heart.  Enjoy!

Dave,
thank you so much!
Yes, absolutely.
Beeing two years without music it is time to change...

Hi Oliver,
Being away from music can be damaging.
Have you messed around in Garageband at all?
It's an app for ipad or the Mac desktop, it is rather easy to use for multi-tracking and has a variety of 'instruments' with adjustable parameters providing many tonal possibilities.

You could probably get a musical fix from doodling around with it. I have 'composed' some songs that have been extremely fulfilling - they certainly aren't going to get any airplay but they serve as a therapeutic outlet for musical creativity.

sonicus

Oliver , I think that Pauldo's suggestion about the Apple musical software know as  Garageband is excellent ! _____

I have played with it and was completely amazed at the results .  Musicians such as us have an edge on the level of creativity with this creation soft ware. It is a unique fusion  of a software  music synthesis and samples and various other disciplines . I purchased the orchestral instrument collection and was able to produce amazing compositions with the sounds of a symphony .

It is So very much fun !!!!

senmen

Guys,
that is a good advice! Thank you!
Anyone got any recommendations rgdg lightweight cabs?
Main goal is lightest weight but with best sound and power...

Oliver,
Have you thought about using in ear monitors and running through the PA system? I know there are other members here that have done this for performances and are happy they did. You could then get a small amp for practicing at home.

Roadies.

Bill,
well, good idea, but not in an amateur band.... :-)

While I was joking, I have been in situations with an amatuer band where we chipped in and hired a guy to haul the equipment for a particular gig.

senmen

Bill,
yes, I know.
We also had done this with my old WHO band....
Have a great day
