Just finished my latest project. I started with a new (2011) American Standard Telecaster.  I dropped in Alembic PUs and added a 3-way Q.  The pick guard is quilted maple.  I LOVE the Babicz Full Contact Bridge.  Literally doubles the acoustic volume and adds resonance and sustain.  Sperzel locking tuners, Schaller Strap Locks, and a black Moody strap I've been saving complete the package.  My next project will involve a Conn CSE-2 (google it) and a set of Alembic Strat PUs.  Here's some pics of the Telembic.  Bill, tgo

Bill, nice job!
Love the pick guard.

Bet you can shred some sweet Danny Gatton licks on that beauty.

:-D

Whilst this may reveal more about me than the guitar but there is an image i can see between the pickups that to me looks like a rather buxom lady sitting in lotus position with her hands on her hips.

Apart from that, what a great project Bill, hopefully I will be able to show my strat self build soon.

It's not you, JV - she's definitely there!

Very nice, Bill; one rosewood fretboard short of perfection!  Sorry, but maple 'boards rate alongside coneheads with me; otherwise, I love it!
Buddy of mine used to have a Heritage 575 (a real ES-175) in natural with a 'guard like that; it was, as he put it, pure Sex.  And his didn't even have a girl in the grain!

Awesome build, Bill!

Does the Babicz line up for the strings thru body?

ed_too

I just like how everything looks so ...together. Have fun with your new toy.
(And you're giving me the itch to Alembize my Landing P-style bass)

Jazzy , nothing wrong with seeing buxom bottoms.  Some of us live for that as well as our Alembics!

Outstanding quilt.  In addition to Danny Gatton style, how about some of the late Roy Buchanan licks and soaring riffs as well.

Very nice . A Very tasty layout and look . l know that this guitar will sound great .  It is really going to cut through the mix . I look forward to hearing it !

Jazzy, if you think you perception of the pickguard says something about you, what does it say about my twisted mind that it looks to me like a seated amazon with winged hair and lobster claw hands?  lol

As for the Babicz, it doesn't line up with the string through body ferrules.  The strings now mount at the bottom of the bridge (which can be seen in the photos).  The Strat version does use the traditional through body string mount.  I've added the Strat saddles to my Modulus neck, Warmoth body Alembicized Frankenstrat I built earlier this year.  I can't recommend the Babicz bridges highly enough for Fender-type instruments.  Simple, elegant, effective design.  (And, yes, they do make them for Fender style basses, 4 & 5 string).

+1 on the pick guard - fabulous.

The body wood has nice grain, too.

What does she weigh - the guitar, not the buxom beauty hiding in the quilt - ?

lbpesq

Pretty light.  The body is ash and has the Strat-style tummy cut in back.  I haven't weighed it, but I would guess around 7.5 lbs.  Certainly lighter than some other Teles I've played.  And she sounds absolutely killer as a slide guitar.

Niiiice.

Comfy is always a bonus!

I've been curious about the Babicz saddles; a far more elegant solution to an idea I had to increase contact area in saddles...oh well, no patent for me! I have a couple of basses I will order them for thanks to your glowing review...nice tele! I just bought one too, one pickup, one knob and weighs nothing, love it! Tony

lbpesq

Tony, you're going to love the saddles.   I'm currently bidding on a Babicz Full Contact replacement for a Tone Pros that I'll be installing on a Les Paul.
