OoooHHH! Rush is touring? Yay!

The suggestion of Warren Haynes in the parody video peaked my interest . . .  That guy has a high level of diverse talent.

Rush - no Milwaukee stop this year.  :-(
My buddy can get decent seats whenever they play at the Marcus Ampitheater.

cozmik_cowboy

Just for the record:

Phish is a decent band; they just a writer, singer & lead guitarist.  Anyone who thinks they've picked up the Dead's mantle never saw the Dead.

Warren is great with Govt Mule, but less so with ABB, and he just can't bring it for the Dead - love him, but it's not what he does.

A friend used to tell me with every new Kansas, Van Halen, and Rush album No, this one is different - you'll like this one!  They never were, and I never did.

In  The Golden Gate Park  in San Francisco @ either;
Speedway Meadow or the Polo Field !

A big free show would be a big Good Karma builder !
( just like the good old days )

In The Golden Gate Park in San Francisco @

The Music Concourse AKA The Band Shell

I also feel The Dead are not The Grateful Dead without Jerry, but...I would go see them play if they swung by my way.
Also because...I saw a number of GD shows when Bruce Hornsby was playing with them. They always got something interesting going with him - sometimes something brilliant.

+1 on Hornsby. Really creative musician with a subtle sense of humor.

Would like to see him with Phil & Friends.

gee a thread with legs.. lol
heres my take
i d rather hear trey then see tray/ facial gyrators turn me off.  v kadelik? trey. has his own sound and a good voice. i no like clones.... and hornsby is a nice plus.
it would have been cool if they could have brought in some of the other guys who have sat in
like haynes, kadelik, barraco etc. for a few tunes

as far as it not being the grateful dead?
if i follow the logic.....
jerry is dead therefore it cannot be the grateful dead
ok
therefore the grateful dead stopped existing in 1973 when pig pen died and then that band stopped existing in 1990 when brent died.

the band is the grateful dead...membership is fluid..
ps- i get a snow day. 24 coming my way

Just to point out what a collection this forum is, someone posted a picture of BLOTTER ART and we all knew what that was and were fine with it...I can hang with this kinda people...Tony

Jerry Garcia.
I can't think of anyone I miss more in music.
Its been hard watching the boys try to work without him.
I understand what Lesh had to do, but its not for me.
It ended in  95.
RIP Jerry.

Here's an interesting and disturbing story about the ticket sales and other aspects of these shows.  It helps to explain why no one I know who mailed in got tickets.

yeah that article speaks volumes.thanks for the link.

I found this quote online,

The alternate media are becoming important and viable alternatives to playing live. Records, videos, that kind of thing. They're going to start to count for something. Because there's only a limited amount of us-time available to us.

and I just like this one..

I read somewhere that 77 per cent of all the mentally ill live in poverty. Actually, I'm more intrigued by the 23 per cent who are apparently doing quite well for themselves.
