As much as I love her, I got to let her go. She needs loving and play time, which I do not provide. I have no more need for a fretless. This bass does it all...but all of you guys already know that.

This is the link from Elderly Instruments, with full pictures. I bought it from them approx. 2 years ago. I have played it a total of 15 times and it has never left my home. Well cared for.

Please contact me if interested.

Well...it would appear that my fingers do not work today. I held the shift key down a little much.

Hi I'm interested in purchasing your bass do you have a phone number I can reach you at ?
You can email it to me at georgioartis@yahoo.com

OK, what do all those knobs do? This is a very tempting bass! I love an Alembic fretless. Jim Cammack has done some great stuff on his with Ahmad Jamal.

Edwin:

Based on another thread about this bass, the extra knobs represent an SF-2 for each pick-up!

That's my guess.  However, you may want to run the serial number by Mica first.  If it is indeed a superfilter then the supercool factor is a significant consideration.

Looks like a great studio instrument, but tweaking those knobs live on stage has to take as much dexterity as any tune I play.  A real classic, though, and probably puts forth great tone no matter how you set it.

Mica should have the serial number.
I registered the bass in the database, upon purchasing it.

The tone on this bass is really unlike most fretless basses i have played. Of course, all of the extra knobs will allow you to dial in to any sound you want. From Wah-Wah to upright fretless...

As an FYI, san diego bass player just called.
The bass is his assuming he can come up with the funds. For now, this sale is on hold until further notice.

Thanks!

San Diego Bass Player - proposed a trade, which while nice, is just not practical for me at this time.

SALE IS BACK ON. WOULD TRADE FOR A CARL THOMPSON 1970's BASS or POSSIBLY A FRETTED ALEMBIC.

I can be as patient as is necessary to find this baby a new happy home.

Have you considered sending it back to the mothership to be fretted? I would hate to part with it myself and would be so inclined.

It is a beaut!

olieoliver

Great idea Gary, that's what I'd do.

I'm usually up for something like that, Gary, but in this case, I would lean toward leaving it as is. To preserve the LEDs would cost $$. It's also likely that the finish would be damaged, and it has aged so nicely, I'd hate to do anything to disrupt the mojo it's developed after all these years.

Mica knows best.

(Hmm sound like a TV show.)
