yea, i noticed that also, i listened to the sound clips and for me, they don't sound as good as one would have to spill out to buy one

To me, that tailpiece makes it look like someone took a golden crap on the bass.  Just sayin' ....

i'm going to agree with that, i guess it looked alot better on paper...

well I agree on the tail piece, looks like something from Hellboy II.
And another point...to much going on with the tonal options for me personally.
That would be a sound engineers nighmare to get a decent sound out front if the player kept switching all the time.
Nice woods and construction but just over the top for me.

Guys,
I played two of them but they are not my thing. You have 6 or more pickups and all tonal possibilities. As I played the first one the only position I liked was the Alembic setting... :-)
And as for the tailpiece....
He tried to sell me a bass for a longer time but I said to him that I could think about it if he would change his trademark lion tailpiece to a spider tailpiece... :-)

hahaha, good try Oliver. if i may ask(i've never seen a price on one of these), how much was he trying to sell it to you for?

P.S.- what was his response to the spider tailpiece idea?

senmen

Taylor,
the german retail two years ago was around 8500 Euros means around 12000 USD.
As for the tailpiece, no, as he insists that this is his trademark.

The tailpiece looks like someone super-glued a brass door knocker on the bass.  Downright fugly IMHO.

Maybe I could get a job there,

About as much as I want to play a loewenherz bass, is about as much as I want to someday eat at the Heart Attack Grill for a triple by-pass burger and a side order of flat-line fries, (fried in lard).

Go figure... (Meaning, I have absolutely no curiosity of experiencing or purchasing the burger, the bass, or the flat-line fries.) But, I am not knocking others who wish to have at it...

For now, my Alembic; a cup of coffee; and toast will do the trick for me.

Err what is that in the picture??
Maybe I should replace my beautiful engineered Alembic bridge and tail piece with a brass door handle taken from one of my interior doors.
I know innovation can be a great idea but that just doesn't do it for me.

Terry,
That's a Frankensitar I put together one day,
I should add a  doorbell button for a coil tap switch : )
The 'bridge' sounds alot better than those Gotoh buzz bridges.

I'd stick with the Alembic brass.

elwoodblue..takes experimentation to a new level!!!
So where did you get the idea??
