I'm putting my September 2001 custom of the month back up for sale.  It's a short-scale, signature electronics bass, the first ever stinger tailpiece on this body design.  The bass is in like-new condition, no dents, scratches or anything.  The case has a couple of blemishes.  The description from the Alembic archives can be seen here.

I'll post some recent pictures as soon as I can get them small enough for this site.  Serious offers will be considered.

It's cocobolo, maple and purpleheart (fingerboard is cocobolo) and includes custom cocobolo knobs.

That's a beautiful instrument.  Good luck with your sale.

I hope you find a buyer soon. It's a great looking instrument and I'm curious about how that combination of maple and cocobolo works on the sound of the bass. It is a combination that appeals to me now that I have a few alembic basses with significant maple content.
 Just curious though, how does it balance with the strap pin placed above the centre line of the body?

I wish you all the best with the sale.

@jazzvee
It's a powerful sounding bass with a lot of natural force (unplugged).  Of course, the tonal range can span a huge spectrum when amplified. Sounds huge, usually, and is the best sounding bass I've ever played imo.  The balance is slightly toward the head as all SC models are.  I never notice it when playing.

I would be interested in the bass at a price a bit lower than the opening bid on ebay.  You would net about the same anyway.

Great looking bass! Hope you were able to sell it? Don't see it on EBAY any longer.

Moongerm,
I am indeed the new owner of the bass.  Out of the 40 or so Alembic's I have owned since the 70's, this is my favorite.  After a little TLC with set up, trimming the fret sprout, a set of 40-100 Prosteel D'addarios, and installing a new (non corroded) battery, the bass feels, plays and most importantly, sounds phenomenal.   Going to the grave with me.
By the way, I don't play with a felt pick as my forum name suggests.  (That is a long Alembic insider story involving Bunny Brunnel.)
