Well, that's too bad.  The electronics, repairs and refinish would probably cost as much as a used Distillate in good condition.  However, if the price stays low, it might be worth buying and sending to Alembic.  You would have a nice bass with new electronics and new finish, for a lot less than a new bass.  But it would be a bit of a risk; there's no way to know what the top wood looks like, and Alembic could not give you a quote on the work without having the bass in their hands.

Why would someone do that?

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Looks like a bullet hole to me!
Guy must've been angry or frustrated that he couldn't learn a Stanley lick/solo and shot the bass! What a knucklehead!

Ok...call me crazy...
I just put a bid in for 150.00.
If I win it, With the help of Ken Wittman I will try and resurrect her from the dead! I'll strip her down, sand her up to her original sexy finish, have Ken put a 5pin in that bullet hole and purchase necessary electronics from the Mothership. Wish me luck! P.S. and I will keep a photo document to keep all interested parties informed of the progress!

I put a bid in for $100.00 earlier this morning and that wasn't enough... looks like it's $137 at the moment- good luck Chalie- I really don't have the funds to fix it up properly anyway.

I am not sure this damage was intentional.

I think this was the old trip over the cord left in the jack, while in the stand, bass goes flying out of stand, rips out jack, headstock hits the ground and cracks trick.

charles_holmes

Ok, Toby and Taylor..
If I win it I'll let you know, I really do not want to bid a great deal on it though. I'm thinking that It'll set me back about 1-2grand to restore her, provided I win her.

cozmik_cowboy

I think the hole is obviously a cord trip, but that doesn't explain the missing quick-change switches.  The neck's what would scare me though - that looks like a seperating headstock, plus another crack in the opposite direction.  Quite possibly concurrent with the cord hole, no?
