That used to be my bass.
It does have some finish repair around the bottom strap button.
Otherwise, it was a really nice example of an Elan.

What a pretty little filly she is!

Good to know I don't have the only purple Elan. They are wonderful sounding basses. I had never had an all maple bass before and it has taken me a while to find my starting tone on it but now Its under my control. Brilliant sounding bass and from experience, if you are looking for one don't let the colour put you off. I did and regretted it until it came up for sale again.

There's a purple-burst Elan at the Guitar Center in Concord, California - it's way up on the wall so haven't seen it up close or had a chance to play it. You can search Alembic in Guitar Center's used inventory and it's 3rd or 4th down on the list.

I guess I'm hoping someone will be interested and ask me to go in and check it out for them! ;)

and fretless too. . . although the sunlight brings out red hues

Nice to see that fretless again Mike...what a beauty ! I miss her once in a while but I'm really glad she's still in the family .

Mine is an '89 as well. So far these three have different electronic set ups. The P-P/Europa set up on yours is sweet.
