Is running about on stage the thing to do on rock gigs then?

Oh yes! sliding on your knees is also acceptable. Bass behind your head and biting the strings is a no-no. :-)

Shooting fire out the end of your bass is always a crowd pleaser too! :-)

As far as what to wear, the safe bet might be to go with what the big name bands wear; light bulbs.

Well we did a track called Shine On so that's totally appropriate Bill. :-)

Yeah, it was an good experience although I doubt if I'd want to venture into playing heavy rock.  
The tabla player was directly in front of my cab for most of the gig and he was very complimentary about my playing and he loved the tone which was great since he has been in the band since the mid 90's.  
 
So looks like I can look forward to some more gigs with them.
They certainly seem to be a band on the verge of hitting the big time.
