Kind of off-topic, but is calendarally a real word? If so, I may have to use it sometime...

I was looking for something that would give balance to the conjunction; so if you have a conjunction that needs balancing, feel free to use it!

To expound a littler further. Not only will I use just about any excuse to make a trip to Asheville but we thought having something up there might allow some of the folks that live in Tennessee, western S.Carolina and N.E. Georgia to attend.

My brother lives in Hickory and I've never been to visit him since he moved there.  I also have a couple of other friends in N.C., so a gathering that allows enough lead time just might entice me to make the pilgrimage.  Which to bring?  Woody, 10/07 COTM?  Old #10?  This could get interesting.

If WILD-BILL is in Crazy-O just may need to show up!

All I'd ask is enough lead time notice so I can drive (no snow or ice please) in and  bring the A & O bass AND Adam buys the first bottle of wine! ;)

OO

Oh and any of you Dallas brothers (I won't mention any names but their initials are Mike, Wayne and John) that may want to car pool. .......sure would would be fun. Heads up though Mike is one Wild and Crazy Guy !

All we need now is for Mica to get onboard for a royal flush!  ;)

Well there has been a landslide on I-40 east of Newport,Tn. and they anticipate a couple of months to clean it up. All those coming from the west should take I-20 to Atlanta where you pick up I-85 north to I-26 west in Greenville, S.C. stright up to Asheville if that's where this shall be held.
Has a date been set?

David Houck

Adam; I've been talking with both Keith and Art, and we were thinking maybe waiting until the rock slide was cleared up.  What do you think?  What would work for your schedule?

Art; we need to work on finding a room.

It does'nt matter if it's cleared up or not as it'll only add another 1.5 hours to my trip (not a big deal to me). I just wanted to let anyone coming from the west know about the land slide. The holidays may hold this up, but let me check my schedule for December as I may have a Saturday off.

I think we should have one soon.  I will offer up my place as a site, though it might not be best (I'm closer to Wilmington than a central location like Greensboro or Winston Salem).  Keith has his new bass, and I have mine.  If we do it at my place, I will do the BBQ (and I mean the good stuff) as well as other things.  If not, I can bring my new Bradley electric Smoker, though it won't be true 'cue.

It's been three/four years since the last one.  I think we're due.

It looks to be about a five hour trip from my house to Fayetteville, not including any come-to-a-complete-standstill traffic in Charlotte; so round trip would be ten hours.  Add four hours or so for the gathering, and an hour or so for driving breaks, and it's doable in a day.  Definitely worth considering.

I do have to mention that I wouldn't have any interest in the food portion of the program and would want to leave before that activity takes place.  In fact, I must admit that I would feel more comfortable with the situation if the playing area is not within smell range of the cooking area; I'm thinking I would be physically uncomfortable spending any length of time with that smell.  Sorry to be a problem in that regard, but I'm just trying to be honest with myself.

But I think it's a great idea, and thank you for the offer of your place for the gathering.  If you don't think my little issue with the cooking smell will be a problem then I think we should kick this around and see what everybody else thinks.

I haven't been in that part of the state in quite a while and it would be nice to drive through the rural sandhills area again.
