Hello everybody.  I just bought my first Alembic, a 1990 Elan 5-string, from Tim Sarter.  A photo of it is posted in the Showcase:

It's the one on the right.  I have dreamed of owning a 5-string Alembic ever since I saw someone play one at a jazz concert when I was a senior in high school.  I remember being impressed by both the look and sound of the bass.  It was the first time I'd ever heard a 5-string.
I vowed to own one someday. 20 years later the right opportunity came out of nowhere (the right bass, a good price, an understanding wife), and someday happened last week.
 
I currently work as a motion picture sound engineer at a Hollywood studio, where I do mostly Pro Tools service & support.
