4 string D/Wing, 5 string Series 1 and a 6 string Exploiter. The Exploiter has two sister basses, indentical, a 4 and a 5.

The D/Wing has Alembic-installed red LEDs, the Series 1 has fretfx installed LEDs. All work, look and play like buttah. The D/Wing is an '07, the Exploiter an '89 and the series 1 a '96.

Series 1 has a walnut top and wenge accents. The D/Wing is cocobolo baby!!!! The Series 1 has been on the Alembic forum before and was known as the 'Big Kahuna'. I call the three Exploiter sister basses 'The Stygian Witches'. I call the D/Wing 'Doris'. Enjoy!

Nice collection of alembics you have there, However unless you are describing another bass in your collection, that 5 stringer does not look like a series Bass. Not enough knobs and switches,  no 5 pin series socket or hum canceller visible. Looks more like a MK style body with vol, pan, single filter and Q-switch.
 
I like that alembic badge on the bodywork it's quite retro looking.

The 'Series' was sold to me described as an 'Orion Custom'. The control setup is as you described, so yes jazzyvee you are right! Whatever it is, it's a BEAST. My drummer described it as the 'anti aircraft' bass. It's close to a 14 pounder.

Rich; great pics!  As Jazzyvee alluded to, we wouldn't call that bass a Series I since it doesn't have Series I electronics or build characteristics.  It's an Orion with a Standard Point body and Essence electronics (and several other upgrades as well).
 
BTW; love the Talent Simulator!  I need to get one of those.

Orion, that's what I thought. Thanks, now I'm sure! It has the following upgrades that I know of....the fatboy p/ups are new, so are the inlays and the logo near the point. It's uniuque indeed. I actually was curious about the electronics on all these basses. I know the d/wing has anniversary electronics and the Orion has the essence. Not 100% sure on the Exploiter....two volumes and a single filter I think. It definetly has a vintage tone to it and is almost too heavy to play!

Two volumes and a filter would be Persuader electronics.  The electronics on the Dragon Wing look like Signature.  Anniversary electronics have a pickup selector switch.  Is it volume/volume or volume/pan?  If volume/pan then it's definitely Signature electronics.

never seen a 6 string exploiter. that's kind of awesome. nice collection.

Dave, sorry to have to burst your bubble but they are not compatible with Alembics. You will find that plugging in an alembic automatically puts the Talent Simulator into bypass mode.

Just sold the Orion  I'd love to replace it with a long scale Stanley Clarke....

I don't think Alembic is inclined to build long scale instruments with small bodies any more.  I'm no expert with regards to the specifics of the Stanley model (so don't take my word for gospel by any means), but I think there was a discussion about this recently.  There were too many balance complaints from customers, although there are a few out there.
