Care to elaborate on those custom electronics, Moder Dave??  How does she sound??
Correction: there is 'much' money to be made above the fifth fret....

Is this the one just back from a long visit back home?

David Houck

I just got her back today after a long wait; and she sounds great!  Three position Q switch; and a three position pickup selector switch.  Plus the regular volume, pan, and filter.  Apparently, the bridge pickup is always on and routed to one side of the Pan.  The selector apparently chooses between the neck, the mid, and what appears to be the sum of the neck and mid.  That choice is then routed to the other side of the Pan.  Lots of tone choices!  They also gave what was already a really nice neck the satin feel treatment!  I couldn't put it down.  Oh, and we added a sustain block too!  I'm going to play with the pickup heights some tomorrow.

Bob; yes it is!!  And I must admit that I'm pretty tickled to have her back!

Very nice score, Dave!
You've got lots of great decisions to make every time you play.

Hi Dave,
''Tis the season'.....for many things I guess, heartwarming re-unions among them. She looks mighty fine.
The added P/U looks like it means business. The more I try to imagine the new sounds it'll yield, the more I think Hmmm, now there's a thought!.I'd be keen to hear of your future sonic findings, please keep us informed.
Best Wishes Simon.

Such a nice Essence !   I really like the custom  electronic modifications and the sustain block . My 91 has a Maple core & top as well .

I think the early Essence basses are pretty cool.  If you send yours back for the sustain block, consider having them give you a satin feel neck while it's there.
