It's a little rough, but I like it.  The Bird's Eye Maple top would actually be very nice with a refinish.  The Cone headstock is a little unusual (I think) for an Orion.

I like it. Nice top.  Nice catch!

Very cool Mike, I mean the fact that you have central vacuum in your house.
the bass is quite nice as well. ;)

LOL!!!  The central vac was roughed-in but not hooked-up.  When I was building my studio/finishing the basement, I wasn't paying any attention to those pipes that weren't hooked-up to anything.  A couple of years ago I decided to get the central vac going and... I had sheetrocked over all the downstairs pipes!!!  I found a cool use for the system though: a mouse crawled in one of the upstairs pipes (they terminated in the attic) and he slid down to one of the wall outlets.  See, you CAN build a better mouse trap.

Which electronics come in the Orion? I'm still new to the alembic world, and am trying to get my bearings. Does orion have the same electronics as the epic? Without the q-filter?

The controls are Volume, Pan, Bass and Treble. The bass and treble controls are asymmetrical, +6dB and -15dB, centered around 100Hz and 5KHz. The pickups are MXY.

Hi, Michael; if I haven't said so yet, welcome to the board.  If you go to the FAQ section, you'll find descriptioins of most (if not all) of the electronic packages - and lots of other cool stuff.  Cruise through the Showcase & Factory to Customer sections & Custom Archive (the last is not in the Club section, but rather off the homepage) and you'll learn lots.

The Orion is the baddest bass out there..and looks even better with a conestock.
