Hi friends, this year might be the most successful in my musical life, besides the collaboration with Gregor Meyle ( a meanwhile very succesful german singer/songwriter) and the collaboration on the upcoming album of Phil Gould i'm happy to pronounce, currently i'm recording the bass tracks for the next Kool & the Gang album. The bass i'm using is the lovely lady you can see on the attached picture. As i figured out, Kool (Robert Bell) was using an Alembic in the early years of his band too .
kool!
here is the pic(http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/65124/199799.jpg)
ha!, i can see the bass is not connected, that pic was made while checking the charts before the session...
Kool indeed... and that cute knobby-headed four-strings makes up for a nice Gang... (Sorry, had to do it :P )
I'm curious as to why Mr Kool himself is not playing bass on the album?
good question, i don't know it either
What a trip around the sun it's been, may it continue to be full of bright moments ;)
Very kool!
I thought Mr Bell played Jaydee basses
I've always associated him with Zon basses
I love that BASS !_____ Das ist aber Kool!!!!_____ Congratulations on the gigs !
guess, i was wrong, thought, that bass is an alembic, but it?s not, which brand is that? It?s a nice looking instrument, very similar to the Alembic style...

It looks like an Oasis to me but I can't get a good look at the logo.
Keith
If I recall correctly, I remember him playing a ZON bass on the Live at the house of Blues video (Which, by the way, was a KILLER concert!, double horn and rhythm sections and all!)
Peter:
Congrats on the Kool gig! How are you coming along on those dance steps? lol
Bill, tgo
Rob Kool Bell died a few years ago.
to answer your question: i'm working since a couple of years for one of the major studios in germany, the boss is a very smart guy networking, don't ask me how he got that job....
and no, Robert Bell is still alive (thanks god!), he played with the band this year in germany, the guitarplayer Claydes Charles Smith died in 2006..
