I just played my first gig with my new 2011 SC Signature Deluxe! It was AMAZING!!! The bass is even better than I had hoped for! Not only is it a sight to behold, but the sound is INCREDIBLE!!! Every not is clear & distinct with bottom end that shakes the room! Every other bass I have ever owned had dead notes that just didn't cut through, but no the Alembic. It will force me to become a better player because every note stands on it's own & can be heard by everyone. I have always hated going to see bands & the bass was so muddy you couldn't make out what they were playing. That will never be a problem with the Alembic! This was a lot of money to spend on a bass, but it was worth every penny! Here's some shots from the gig, it was Mardi Gras in Galveston, TX. We played at the Holiday Inn Resort.

Interesting rig rusty.
Graeme
Kudos Rusty! Welcome to the club and ...practice, practice, Practice!!!!!! Hee..hee!
I'm really trying to Giant Steps down pat solo-wise myself...and man for me it is a beast!
Then I'll have to get it down on the Double Bass
Graeme, I did not play in a band for 12 years, so I just had the little Hartke Kickback 115 for a practice amp. I just joined my current band, The Nailers, a year & a half ago, and I went out & bought the Eden Nemesis RS 400 amp & 4X10 speaker box. So now I use the Hartke for a sub amp & the Eden on top & it sounds AMAZING with the new SC SIgnature!
Sweet looking bass. I too have had the same experience. I asked our drummer if the bass made me sound better or if it was the fact that I have been practicing. He thinks it's the practicing. A new instrument will definitely get your interests rekindled. And yes - love the sound of my new Rouge. I still love my old Rick, but the Alembic sound is so clean and even. Every note counts! Glad you like your new bass!
Stephen
Thanks Stephen! I also have a 1979 4001 Rick that I used on 2 songs with a drop D tuning so I wouldn't have to retune during the gig, but since getting the Alembic, I retired the Rick & replaced it with my 62 reissue Jazz Bass that was my primary bass. It has much more bottom than the Rick & better suited for the low tuning.(http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/65124/98283.jpg)
