I saw this on a facebook thread and the owner stated " it is an original jacket that came with the bass". Seems a neat way to reduce buckle rask. Anyone else had these on a new alembic.
Thought there was a thread where it looked like Stanley had something like that on his bass. Neat idea.

Paul, I'd guess we're looking at the reflection of the truss rod ends on the side of the neck pickup. No divider between the two cavities.
Am I the only one that wears his belt buckle over his left hip bone?
I have done this since the '70s.

I decided to move my buckle to the side after Jimmy Johnson mentioned it in a thread a while back. I think that jacket looks fine on that bass. I wouldn't be averse to using one if it was possible for one to just cover the back of the bass.

Left side if I'm wearing a belt with a buckle, but a buckle-less leather Duluth Trading belt is my go-to lately.
I have seen these 'slings' made for acoustic guitars. First time I saw one, it was made from a repurposed tie-dyed one-sie at a fiddlers convention... back when they used to have those. It's -40 F right now where I am so I'm thinking my basses might just want one of those to stay warm. Especially if they come in heavy duty flannel, or with heating coils and a battery or plug in option. 🌬🌨⛄️❄️
Wow, Greg, a BIG THANKS for posting! I never before heard of a buckle-less belt. Even with Zoom court these days, I still appear live in court fairly often. That means going through the metal detector at the courthouse, and that usually means taking off my belt, then standing there with my briefcase, coat, umbrella, whatever, while I struggle to quickly replace my belt. No more! I'll be measuring my waist (oh the horror!) and ordering one today.

I posted three posts above exactly one year ago, today. I've been wearing my Duluth Trading buckle-less belt ever since. What an absolutely GREAT product! Brilliant idea, perfectly executed. One of two products I've discovered since the pandemic that made me want to cry out "where have you been all my life!" The other is the bidet I installed early in the pandemic when people were hoarding TP, (which now seems barbaric compared to the bidet).
So I feel compelled to again say "thank you, thank you, thank you, Greg" for turning me on to this (at least for me) life-changing product! I think of you and smile every time I walk through a metal detector and, upon being instructed to remove my belt, can reply "it's buckle-less, no metal". I suspect I've sold at least a half dozen for Duluth to various sheriff's deputies over the past year.

Heed taketh I not to mar the backside of my beloved Alembic basses !. My solution hast been to wear suspenders and as a prophylaxis of extra effectivity I always wear an extra garment over the suspenders, which must be buttonless and devoid of a zip as well. Hands with rings shalt be forbidden, therefore I comply to my own stipulations universally. :)
I was watching a video on FB yesterday of them finishing off guitars and guess what. They have their guitars in these jackets.
