In both cases, the Flame Maple is much hotter in person. When you sand it, the depth of the figure fades, but once the paint hits it, watch out!
Brace yourself. I mean, you've already seen this as the slab of lumber, but that doesn't really prepare you for the outrageous bookmatch:

I am frozen on this thread like the days of childhood watching To be Continued of my favorite show: BATMAN or The Green Hornet!
Same Bat-time, same Bat-Channel!

The inside view of the back:

This is a great picture. I love being able to determine the wood grain that's actually making it into the guitar. I'm also excited about the color the wood has turned since it was sliced open. Beautiful!
Let's see the top!
That is some chocolate-like goodness!
Pretty pretty pretty!

WOW, what a top!
Even better, I see a huge Owl _ The constant companion of every swell Wizard!
I have to run to the store, and get a gallon of milk -- because that guitar looks delicious enough to dip and eat.

Fantastic top. The back's not too bad either. Will it be getting wood cavity covers?
Graeme
Best Coco bolo top I have seen!!
On a par with Shoji's!

Every time Mica warns that she's got new pictures to post, I think I'm prepared - but I never am. I just love everything about this guitar. It's amazing to see a dream become reality before your very eyes.
Jacko - the electronics, battery, and truss rod plates are all continuous wood. How could I do anything else with this Coco Bolo?!?
To me.....
All the wood choices are perfect!!
Can't wait to see this one finished
You are a lucky man!

Astounding Cocobolo
Simply Amazing!!!!
Unlike some of the top woods I've seen on alembics, I think Cocobolo is the one that makes any alembic body shape, guitar or bass, look much more impressive.
Some sealer:

With the sealer, the top is really three dimensional!
