I've seen only one, namely the November 1999 Featured Custom. Has anybody seen photos of any other ones elsewhere on the website?
I've also just found the April 2002 Featured Custom. Any others?
Tom
There's one on the Skylark page.
Have you seen this excel?

Thanks, gents!
Hey Lidon- I don't see an Oceanburst ax on the Skylark page.
Tom, go here: http://www.alembicguitars.net/prod/skylark.html (http://www.alembicguitars.net/prod/skylark.html)
You should see 14 thumbnail images, one of which is an Oceanburst finish.
Click or doubleclick that image for the full view.
Here you go, looks a bit different:

Thanks guys. I was looking in the Skylark Showcase section of the club, not the Product page. This photo is helpful.

That's a neat picture. This is the second time I've sat here and just looked at those blue waves of water.
So Tom; just curious, or did you have something in mind?
That Skylark is a great platform for the finish. A real beauty.
It looks like ripples on still water (Hunter /Garcia reference deliberate)

Dave, nothing specific yet. Thinking about an ocean-themed bass with a flame or quilt maple top, ocean burst, and maybe a shell inlay or two. At the moment, you guys are building a vermilion short-scale lefty Excel for me, so I won't be placing another order for awhile!
First, let me say that I think Alembics should be natural wood - or maybe a light tint if maple. Second, let me say that bursts should be either Fender 3-tone sunburst or Gibson tobacco sunburst. Third, let me say I WANT THAT SKYLARK! That is just yummy!

I know this is an older thread, but there's a used triple-Omega (http://www.bassandbeyond.com/html/used.php?category=Basses&item=Alembic%20Triple%20Omega%204%20Str%20Oceanburst%20target=_blank) at Bass and Beyond in Sacramento, CA. See also this thread (http://alembicguitars.net/club/messages/395/43903.html?1189637621%20target=_blank) here at our very own forum.
I was once a purist (You know - The natural beauty of the wood shouldn't be obstructed, etc, etc,etc.). But after painting a few vintage Fenders and other older guitars in nitro over Lake Placid Blue, Dakota Red, Daphne Blue, tobacco burst, Heritage Cherry and a few other vintage colors, I began to appreciate the aesthetics of colors and pigment.
That Excel is calling to me...
