Got on an 80s kick and youtubed one of my favorite songs from the era. Looks like Francis Buchholz is playing an Alembic Exploiter! I think it's awesome Alembics are played in hard rock scenarios like this, Newstead of Metallica, etc.

That is so awesome! Love hearing a recording of an Alembic in the wild - so clear and present. First Scorpions I heard was Rock You Like A Hurricane, but later grew to love their various periods.
I see purpleheart laminates and Distillate controls there. And some wicked pants. 8)
😎
Yes, I remember him playing that Distillate Exploiter on Coast to Coast. Love early Scorpions before they became completely formulaic. After Ulrich Roth left, they had a few more good ones left in them, but I fell off before too long.
Rad. Not to go off on a tangent but I'm surprised to see an ES335 in a heavy metal. Aside from Ted Nugent and his huge Gibson this is unusual.
Don't forget Alex L from rush. Been a scoops fan sine Tokyo Tapes and Lovedrive. Still going.

Ah, right. I saw Rush on the "All the worlds a stage" and "Farewell to Kings" tour and he was using that white one.
