Very nice set up. How do you like your Hartke? I've been looking at those.
Sam
Hi Sam, it?s sheap, and a good amp for worker, very different tones tube/solid state, a very good working graphic EQ, I like the amp(http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/393/8641.jpg)
Thanks, Jack Bruce uses the 7000 amp with XL cabinets and sounds great. Of course that fine German bass he plays helps with that sound.
I had a Hartke bass and was not satisfied with it but have always heard their amps were real good quality.

I liked the Hartke 3500 I had. The tube preamp, EQ and onboard compressor were surprisingly good for the relatively low price I paid (used) for the head. I can vouch for durability as well. My amp was dropped several times and never let me down. In fact, the only thing I ever had to do to it was replace a power switch. Great quality - good price.

But.....the Cooler is very loud, it?s a problem for studio work, test the SAD Cabinets...great!!
Eugen ( Tattooman )
I previously owned a 1X15 Hartke XL Cabinet, a 4.5 Hartke XL Cabinet, and the tweeter bank they used to make but don't anymore. I also had a Hartke 7000 amp. It was great stuff - very tight sound, lots of tones, simple controls, and it was biampable with a built in cross over and two power amps. However, I sold it all and bought an Ampeg SVTIV Pro Head, and Ampeg BXT cabinets (1X15 with tweeter and 4X10 with tweeter). Why? I test drove the Ampegs at a Guitar Center, and just loved the sound - tight, yet warm, and the mid roll off on the tone controls is awesome, particularly if you use different instruments from different manufacturers (I own Fenders, Gibsons, a Rickenbacker, a MusicMan, and my Alembics). Plus, it had 490 watts at 4 ohms versus about 250 for the Hartke at the same load. I never had a problem with the Hartke's though. Anyone buying them will get a great amp setup IMO.
Congrats on your rig, Eugen!
Regards,
Alan
