Picked up this Orion 5 used just recently and it is the nicest bass I've ever played.

better body and neck pictures are coming!
The grain on the top wood looks really nice!
Nice find Frank, looks like it was made just for you. Long scale neck on that baby.
Frank, are you a tall fella or is the celling a little low in your practice room?
Stay low big guy, thanks for the photo's, great looking bass.
Hey Frank,
Along with the body and neck photos, remember to post some pics of your bass, too!

That's pretty much the best bass I've ever seen.
Beautiful looking bass. Enjoy it!

Thanks for all the compliments, it plays like a dream. I'm still trying to get some more photos.
It is a great looking Bass. I envy you man, 17, in school, new Alembic.
Man I turned 17 in Oct of 79, got married in Nov of 79, had my oldest in June of 80 (still only 17)played a 76 Fender Jazz.
But you know what, since then I've added another daughter, a few more basses (still have the JAzz))and kept the same wife (27th anniv this year)guess lifes been good to me too.
Anyway that is a super cool Bass. Peace!
Nothing wrong with a fender Jazz bass, I first started playing on my dads old P-bass and I still play it alot. Theres just no replacing an old fender, their lifers.
My first bass was a Kingston Jazz copy. Imagine a 2x4 fitting with bass strings that are 1/2 off the neck (no truss rod) and only one cheap bridge PU. Started on it in 74 at the age of 12. Two years later I purchased my 76 Fender Jazz. Good thing too, I'd looked real strange with one arm looking like Popeye and the other not!
