I just have to gush a bit:
I am listening back to a recording my fun, goof-off cover band (www.hometownsweethearts.com (http://www.hometownsweethearts.com))just did and I can't believe how many sounds I was able to pull out of my Excel! Fat 60's pick tones, aggressive pick tones, big puffy, good ol' pbass tones, jaco punchytime- dang! I just have a filter w/ 3 position Q switch and the amp was just set with some bass boost and i never touched it.
I have had way too many basses to mention and I have never been able to pull this much out of one.
Ok, I'm done now.
Great sound. Nice song list too!
What's the amp?
NLP
we have the recording i was talking about here:
Hometown Sweethearts (http://myspace.com/hometownsweethearts)
AND HERE:
Allison mp3 (http://www.hometownsweethearts.com/allison.mp3)
Tainted Love mp3 (http://www.hometownsweethearts.com/tainted%20love.mp3)
I used a gk700rb-ii thru a swr monitor 12 mic'd and a direct line too.
