Can anyone shed some light on this old IN2 I have ? All the controls , inputs and outputs are labeled by hand . Is this a prototype and why is it so crude if it is serial # 64 ?

That does look pretty crude for something from Alembic. I also have an IN-2. Mine is serial number 53 and has the black face and all the proper lettering.
I got the IN2 in a deal which included a series II bass , the IN2 and a DS5 .
Since it has a serial number, it probably is the real deal and not home made. I would guess that something happened to it so the previous owner had to relable everything by hand. Perhaps a fire or something? Mine sat underwater for about 3 weeks during the Katrina flood. It still looks new.

Does anyone else have any thoughts or information ?
