Last week ii came across my dream bast 1975 Series 1 zebra wood bass. The guy wanted only $4300 for it. I sensed it was too good to be true, but i emailed him.
He said he wanted me to pay with pay pal, because it's safer. I was about to make the money transfer, but the bank put a hold on the amount. In fact, pay pal did too!Lucky for anyone trying to make a purchase from this scamster. I decided to ask him to call me. He wouldn't, in fact, he took the add down after i requested a phone chat. He didn't get my money either! He now may have a 1980 Omega series 1 on Craigslist. Hid name is David. The location in in the Philly area. Beware. Look at the bass. Is it familiar to anyone. Also, He wouldn't show the serial number.
It's a(nother) scam. That is #75-238.
The Omega-cut bass you've seen is in Richmond, Virginia. It is not in Philadelphia.
Check this section out sometime Michael. We track these things here. Often we flag potential scams. It's also a good place to find a deal on a nice bass.

There have been a couple of times that I have been interested in an alembic which seemed priced too good to be missed. They were a Spyder and a Series bass. I did ask the seller for a couple of photos of the bass control cavity. Both times i never heard from the seller.
I wonder how many people were conned.
Hopefully none.
