Hi Alembic Community,
I have had this bass guitar for 25 years, but originally bought it used. I am unsure about model.
It seems most likely that it is a Persuader, but it has a switch for active, which I can't find
on persuader models looking similar.
I am looking to sell, but I am unsure about valuation. It is in good condition and has an original hardcase.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Andreas,
The PJ pickups and the shape of the trussrod cover confirm that it's a Persuader. The serial number should have a P in it, too.
What ypu call the "active switch" is most probably a Q switch. The electrnics are active, so make sure you unplug the bass when not in use. Regular Persuaders have the filter with the Q boost always engaged, the switch allows you to disengage the boost.
Great, thanks. Any idea of a fair valuation?
Pretty bass, Welcome Andreas! :)
Persuader and Spoiler basses here in the U.S. on average will go for $1800 - $2200, less for rougher ones or where quick sale is desired, more for really nice models or where patience is exercised. I can't help but think circumstances and availability are somewhat different in Denmark.
Your Persuader looks to have a desirable Koa top, and that added Q-switch is a very nice bonus. Good luck with your sale. Wish I could give it a home here!
Thanks, this is helpful
Doctorbass, the Spanish bass retailer, just sold one in beautiful condition for about €2500
