Hello fellow Alembic owners,

I am glad to say that my '78 Series I will arrive today (where is that brown truck?) and I will join the ranks of Alembic ownership.  This is my first Alembic, let the passion begin!  I am unhappy to report that it was sold to me without the power supply or cable.  Therefore I am in search of a DS5 and cable.  Dave is kindly lending me one but I am in hope of finding one to permanently place with the bass.

Does anyone have an extra DS5 that they are willing to part with?

Thanks kindly,

Art - Great news!  I can't wait to see pictures.

By the way, don't even be tempted to use the Alembic with the Hyak power supply.  It's just too much voltage.  You can use the Hyak with the Alembic supply, but not the other way around.

Michael - Thanks for that solid advice - of course the thought has more than crossed my mind and appreciate the warning.

I was going to measure the voltage on both the DS5 that I am borrowing and the one I built for the Hyak ages ago.  When I built the power supply (1980) Hyak was already gone.  I never did locate the original schematic used but remember Alembics involvement at the time.

Thanks for listening... The Series bass that I had ordered from GC ended up arriving in a DOA state from Chicago.

I no longer need the DS5.

Luckily the GC 60 miles from here took an MK on trade 3 days ago.  I returned the Series and purchased the MK.  I am very pleased with it!
