I have been enjoying the convenience of a late 80s Steinberger XL2.  I think the neck on the Zon version is a little smaller and would fit me better.  I also heard one played recently and thought the tone, while not Alembic-versatile, was pretty solid.
 
I would trade the XL2 for the right Zon if someone wanted that.  The XL2 would come with both a gig bag and hard case.  There are a couple sets of different strings that seem to have been put on and off for periodic tone changes.  There are both flat/flattish strings and nickel rounds.  It has two volume controls and a tone knob with passive Bartolini pickups.  I won't sell this bass except in trade or as part of a three-way deal for a VB-4.
