I have a gorgeous like new Europa 5 with flame walnut top, LED's, wood back plates, Abalone fingerboard inlays.  It is a 2018 and I purchased it new.  Also have a 1994 Epic 6 with flame maple top on near mint condition.  Both are awesome basses, but the Europa 5 is not getting played and the Epic 6 suffers from one fundamental flaw, to me — no fretboard inlays.

Looking to trade one or both for an Alembic or Fodera 6 string bass.  No other Epics or Orions - for an Alembic, only want neck-through.

The basses and I are on Long Island.

Thanks.
Eric

Have you thought of having fretboard inlays put in the epic by Alembic or another luthier?

Yes.  But I would only let Alembic do it, and it is cost prohibitive - it would basically cost as much as the bass.  I'd rather spend that money to "upgrade".

Makes sense. I love Europa basses and would find it hard to put mine up for sale. I hope it works out for you.

I had an Epic 5 for a while and loved it, but sold it for the same reason -no inlays. I am just too visual a player.

Wow, that's interesting.  I never look at the fretboard indicators.  If need be, I only look at the side dots.

I have a 1993 maple 6-string Europa that's up for sale for the right price. My small hands just can't make adequate use of the low-b string. It would be a lot less expensive than your fiver so if you can't arrange a trade and decide to sell PM me and we can discuss.
