I am looking for a short scale series I or II
 
I have been looking on this board and all over the web, but haven't been able to find anything in my price range (under $5k)

Hi Steve, welcome to the board!  With patience, you should be able to find a short scale Series bass in that price range.  But it could take some patience; they don't come up that often.
