I've been in search of a new bass and came across alembic basses. i would like to find a spoiler or some other type but it needs to be left-handed.

Rob and I think a lot alike... I was going to post that same link.   :D

I seem to remember there was a left-handed Epic model listed recently on Reverb or maybe on TalkBass, but it must have sold.

Come to think of it, I can't recall ever seeing a left-handed Spoiler or Persuader, though there must be a few.   ???

Welcome to the Club - keep an eye on this page... one that suits you might turn up anytime.  ;)

We can always dream Jazzyvee!  Incidentally that looks a lot more expensive on Reverb than direct from Vintage & Rare.  Presumably that's the site's mark-up.  Is the cost expensive for that type of Series 2?

I don't know exactly what the premium is for a left handed Series bass and customization but in US dollars I'd consider the current price to be extremely optimistic given what typical Series basses of this vintage has typically sold for in the US.

And can I ask what the typical selling price for a S2 of that type would be in the US?

Hi Pier's , my John Paul Jones Triple Omega's still for sale left handed 10/10 condition !!!! never left the house my friend. Highly figured Spalted Maple with Led Zeppelin 4 inlay's as position marker's by Martin Simm. Custom knobb's and Bass Cleff !!!!!. You can check her out being made here at Alembic Colin's JPJ. £5500 + shipping which is a steal for a bass of this quality with Custom case and certificate of build. All the best Colin.[img]

Hammer, alembic don't charge more to make a lefty so it should not really be uplifted when being sold on. Piers, i would say that is overpriced as i bought a 2002  series II 5 string europa in 2012 and a 2000 series I 5 string europa last year. Both were in as new condition when i got them and i still paid less that that bass is up for sale at.
It is pretty sweet though.

The premium on that 5-string bass in England is surely the Quilted Coco Bolo - there is very little of that wood left and less than 20 total instruments were made from it.
