Rattling noise at the bridge

I have an Alembic Epic 4 string that has developed a strange noise at the bridge saddle when the "A" string is plucked. It is quite noticeable unplugged and loud enough to be heard through my amp when playing at normal volume. I tried changing strings, but it did not help. Is there a fix for this problem?
Thanks

Try slightly changing the intonation screw -- just a little. There can be times when after enough wear, if the saddle is _exactly_ at the top of a thread it can teeter a bit. If that sound goes away with a slight change in the intonation, replacing the saddle may help.
Also just make sure everything is snug on the bridge.
It's good that you eliminated the strings as a source.

Mica, thanks for the quick reply. I just ordered a new saddle and a bridge kit.

I once had this rattle in the bridge.  I did everything I could think of, short of having it prayed over at a tent revival.

New strings . . . . no more noise.

BigRedBass, I tried the new strings thing, didn't make any difference. Ordered a new saddle; problem solved!
