Hi to all the community, it's Javier from Spain.
Please forgive my so-so english so it's not my native language.
I'd like to show you my new Alembic after years playing a Mark King Deluxe recent sold. Just bought in Spain second hand but in awesome mint condition.
Looks like a Series I with the SN: 0212879 USA (A 2002 model, isn't true?).
The original owner told me is ready to modify into a Series II only with a chip or something like that, in fact there's a electronic cavity with a free data cable that looks like could be the way to make that. I really don't know nothing about it so I have sent a mail today to Mica and I truly appreciate some help with that issue. If there's a nonsense feel free to tell me I'm a naive.
Really happy with that beauty by now.
Well, now the pics...

Welcome Javier,
The bass has been a topic of recent discussion...

...congratulations, she's beautiful

Thank you very very much my friend. This info is great for me so it's definitely the same bass.

PURE ART !

         congratulations!

Thank you guys. Even I though it was a genuine Series I it's definitely a GREAT bass, quite strange the issue with the serial number and the rare mix between MK and Series I & II specs, but sounds and look gorgeous.
The worst part is that not all the positions, pots and switch are operative in this configuration till I can get the funds to make an upgrade and convert it in a real Series.

Maybe they really do - there is a stereo/mono switch (probably the one on the plate) and if you are in the stereo mode with a regular mono guitar cable, only half the controls work. Flip the switch to the other position and, voil?! Everything works, even the standby position of the pickup selector, where there is no sound, but there is current draw on the battery.

I've never get tired seeing Alembics, they're so gorgeous!

It doesn't matter what model is or wood top choice, people at Alembuc always exceed in craftsmanship.
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!
