Hi.  Purchased a new three-way Q-Switch for my STR pickups.  Have two sets of these pickups.  One with just volume and tone and then this one in the pics which came as volume, bass and treble but I picked up a filter used.  Only wanted to use two pots total.  Master volume and master tone because I always bang into the typical strat location for volume.

Anyway, want to make sure before trying this install of the Q-Switch that this is indeed a compatible AE-1 Filter.

If I like the Q would probably purchase another for my other set of STR pickups.

Thank you

mica

Looks like a standard AE-1 filter from here. You should be good to go!

I'm figuring I'll need a really small soldering tip to do that, is that correct?

And maybe .015 or .020 solder?

And thank you, Mica :-)

You need a desoldering iron or new solder wick to remove the capacitor. Yes, tiny soldering tip (step away from the soldering gun!) and whatever size solder your have the most experience controlling.
