Thanks for your comments. I had the initials inlaid by John Diggins of Jaydee Custom Guitars. He's a great, really nice bloke and he got  the font to match the Alembic one so it blends naturally.

All the alembics are done except the Elan which I'm going to get done when he can fit me into his busy timetable.

JD told me that he had heard that there was a rumour going round the net and musician circles that  he is retiring and that had suddenly increased the demand for his instruments. He assured me that he has no plans to retire yet.

But it just means he is far too busy to find time for my small job at the moment. I actually waited a year to get the others done.

I know some owners think that personalising affects the resale price. But I bought all mine to keep so that is not an issue for me.

John Diggins?
He's a personal friend of mine.

I had a Jaydee supernatural but the neck went crazy. Rather than get to the root of the problem I eventually cut my losses and traded it in!

Apparantly my unfortunate ownership coincided with the time when JD had to hire in extra help to cope with the increased demand for his basses due to Mark Kings stratospheric popularity. Im told that at this time the quality of JD's suffered!

I love the look of the Jaydee basses ( who wouldnt?) but never went there again - maybe that was a folly on my part, but once bitten and all that

This bass has turned 20 this week and has been enjoying some special attention.
I've had it from new since 2002 and bought it from the Bass Centre in Birmingham England.

I had almost forgotten about your Stanley bass, Jazzy. Didn't you upgrade the electronics from Signature to Anniversary on this one as well? Yessir, that's a nice one.  8)

Yep i did, not been brave enough to drill the holes for the pickup selector or mono/stereo switches yet though. They are insulated in the body cavity.

Just been reading another thread and realised this year makes 20 years of alembic ownership. This SC Deluxe was my first step into the brand and my Classico is my last which i think i bought in mid 2018.

I still love it although it does not get as much playtime of late.
