Hello all,
 
After several short stays at a couple of owners this beauty found a new home in Europe: It is the Ziricote Series 2 5-string with serial no. 97-10554. There are several threads telling the history of this bass here at the Al forum. I've read them all before I finalized the deal.
 
There must have been >10 previous owners, most of them complained about the weight, neck-dive, missing LEDs etc. When I started to consider the trade I was 100% convinced that this would be obviously NOT a bass for gigging - I would have fun with it in studio or at home, but nowhere else.
 
And that's all about it: This baby is heavy, it is huge, it feels so uncomfortable using the strap, but it sounds so deep and clear as I expected for a big Alembic S2. I'm not sure whether I will keep it forever - as I am more into Smith or old Fender sounds. But for now I can tell that this is an amazing sounding bass with a breathtaking top and a comfortable low action. I love it.
